About GES

The GES
Approach

Griffiths Engineering Solutions was founded on the desire to provide a professional, reliable, and highly valued engineering service to its customers — drawing upon expertise and experience gained working around the world, applying the best practices used across a huge range of industries.

An honest, transparent relationship with the customer is one of GES's core beliefs. Too often in this industry, customers and suppliers seem to enter a game of political chess over expectations and deliverables. GES aims to under-promise and over-deliver, leaving the customer feeling they have gained more than they hoped for — and leaving GES proud of yet another extremely happy customer.

GES works differently. You are paying for engineering time, and once you have paid for the service, it is yours — not locked in by password-protected controllers or critical software code that is deliberately withheld. GES rejects that approach. Customers own their equipment, and they should retain full control of the means to keep it running. The goal is for customers to return to GES because they choose to, not because they have been left with no alternative.

Modern industry is broad and increasingly complex, with every discipline evolving under constant global and commercial pressure. GES does not claim expertise in everything — no credible engineering firm could. What it provides is a strong core understanding of engineering and software fundamentals, and a passion for engineering built into the soul of the company.

That capability spans friction welding, PLC and automation, variable frequency drives, fault finding, and mechanical systems — allowing a single accountable partner to support a wide range of problems and development work, rather than coordinating multiple separate specialists all trying to avoid responsibility.

Friction welding is a particular passion of GES. The machines, while appearing basic, encompass remarkable levels of engineering — from VFD speed and position control under extremely variable loads, to precision hydraulic control, often incorporating a range of automation systems, and mechanical forces that very few machines are ever subjected to. What makes it more fascinating still is the range: one machine may demand perfect tuning, extremely precise weld parameters, and tooling and geometry held to tiny tolerances to produce a sound weldment, while another will run and weld quite happily on relay logic and toggle switches for hydraulic positioning.

Griffiths Engineering Solutions Ltd is a UK-registered company (No. 14757793), providing specialist engineering support to industry across the UK and internationally.
